Core Values

  • We believe that biblical preaching of God’s Word is central to our mission. Exposition preaching is letting the text of Scripture drive the sermon, bringing God’s intended meaning to the congregation. The church pastor will root himself in God’s intended meaning of the text, center it in the Gospel, and apply it to the lives of those gathered so that they are encouraged and equipped to fulfill God’s purpose for them.

  • We believe that our gathered corporate worship services are to be submitted to biblical principles and commands. We believe that the essential elements of the worship service are the reading and preaching of God’s word, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that center on biblical truths, corporate prayer, and giving of our time, talents, and monetary provision that God has provided for us.

  • We believe that as we make disciples, we are also thoroughly involved in supporting missions and being on mission ourselves. We endeavor to partner with missions agencies, particularly through the Southern Baptist Convention and its entities such as the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, and the South Carolina Baptist Convention. We also are partnering with Edisto Baptist Association.

  • We believe that discipleship is essential to a healthy church. Discipleship begins with evangelism, proclaiming the Gospel to the lost, that they may become followers of Jesus. Once a person becomes a believer, they are called to a life of following Jesus. We strive to equip disciples through corporate worship gatherings and small group discipleship so that members will know their Bibles, understand what they believe, and live the Christian life through spiritual disciplines.
